Description
Description
(Luftwaffe Feldbluse für einen Feldwebel der Luftnachrichtentruppe). An extremely well-preserved Luftwaffe Air Communications Corps Feldwebel service blouse, constructed of dark blue-grey wool. It features a turned-down collar which is trimmed along the outer edge with a silver aluminum wire tresse, and flanked by tabs constructed of saddle-brown wool with buckram cores, each measuring 35 mm (w) x 60 mm (l). The shoulders are topped by straps which are constructed of dark blue-grey wool, trimmed with saddle-brown piping, bordered by a silver aluminum wire tresse, and pinned with a single metal pip. Each measuring 45 mm (w) x 100 mm (l), the straps are fixed in place with loops at the outer edge and with pebbled metal buttons on the inner edge. Two pockets are set into the lower breasts, each closing with a horizontal flap perforated with a reinforced buttonhole, in turn meeting a pebbled metal button. Stitched onto the upper left breast is an insignia consisting of a dark blue-grey wool backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, measuring 95 mm (w) x 50 mm (h), applied with factory-original zig-zag stitching. The blouse closes with five bakelite buttons on the right meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left. Stitched through the top buttonhole is a ribbon for the Eastern Front Medal. Notably, affixed to the tunic is a Marksmanship Lanyard, Grade 1, consisting of a silvered feinzink badge pinned to a dark slate-grey rayon and silver aluminum wire cord. The interior is partially encompassed by a grey cotton liner, providing interior pockets on both breasts, with an additional bandage pocket at the lower right. The illegible remnants of a maker mark and size dimensions are visible on the left pocket. The blouse measures approximately 44 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 56 cm, and an overall length of 70 cm. Demonstrating no notable damage or wear, this untouched and high-quality NCO’s tunic remains in an extremely fine condition.
