In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
The picture postcard shows Prince Hubertus of Prussia in a Luftwaffe uniform in the rank of Lieutenant. The reverse remains virtually unused. Measuring 91x139mm, extremely fine condition with light scuffing.
Footnote:
Prince Hubertus of Prussia was born on September 30, 1909, a grandson of Emperor Wilhelm II. He joined the Wehrmacht in 1934 as part of Infantry Regiment 8. Hubertus saw action during the Polish campaign in the 3rd Infantry Division. However, when his older brother Wilhelm was killed in action in 1940, and over 50,000 people attended his funeral, A.H. was afraid that the monarchy could be brought back by popular demand through royal martyrs. Therefore, he forbid members of former royal families to fight at the front line. Since Hubertus had some experience as a pilot, he was placed in the Luftwaffe. In 1943, A.H. decreed that all men from former royal families were to end their service in the Wehrmacht. After the war, Hubertus lost his estates, since the land was taken over by Poland. He emigrated to Southwest Africa (present-day Namibia) where he tried to build a new life, yet died on April 8, 1950 as a result of an appendectomy.
