Germany, Luftwaffe. A Tropical Field Blouse for a Flak/Artillery Unteroffizier, by Bruno Dunemann

 =(Luftwaffe Tropen Feldbluse für einen Unteroffizier der Flak/Artillerie). An extremely well-preserved Luftwaffe tropical field blouse for a Flak/Artillerie Unteroffizier, constructed of khaki-tan cotton cloth. It features a turned-down collar which is reinforced on the reverse with machine-stitched arts. The shoulders are flanked by straps which are constructed of khaki-tan cotton, trimmed with red piping, and bordered by silver-grey threaded tresses. Each measuring 40 mm (w) x 100 mm (l), the straps are fixed in place with a loop at the outer edge and with a pebbled metal button on the inner edge. The cuff of each sleeve has a hidden slash which fastens closed with two zink buttons. Four pockets are set into the breasts, with the upper pockets pleated, all closing with reinforced buttonholes meeting pebbled and brown painted metal buttons. Stitched onto the upper right breast just above the corresponding pocket is an insignia consisting of a khaki-tan cotton backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, measuring 90 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). Two sets of threaded loops are distributed over the upper left pocket for the accommodation of badges with vertical pinbacks. The blouse closes with five pebbled and brown painted metal buttons on the right flap meeting six reinforced buttonholes on the left. A single interior bandage pocket is located at the lower right breast flap, while a partially-legible maker’s mark for the firm of Bruno Dunemann, Berlin, is visible on the left, situated above size marks and a manufacture date of “41”. The blouse measures approximately 42 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 52 cm, and an overall length of 65 cm. Demonstrating only minor soiling to the base material, this untouched example, produced by a noted manufacturer of Wehrmacht tropical uniforms, remains in a near extremely fine condition.
