Germany, Luftwaffe. A Short-Range Fighter Clasp, Gold Grade with Case, by C.E. Juncker

(Frontflugspange für Jäger in Gold mit Etui). Constructed of gilded tombak, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel wreath, joined together at the bottom by a swastika, surrounding an upward-pointing winged arrow, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the revere with a single visible rivet securing the arrow in position, with a barrel hinge and tapering horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 75.86 mm (w) x 25.55 mm (h), weighing 17.8 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a rigid card stock frame with a faux blue leather liner, the lid bearing an inscription of “FRONTFLUGSPANGE FÜR JÄGER GOLD”, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted off-white felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 90 mm (l) x 40 mm (w) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating moderate soiling and fatigue to the case, in overall extremely fine condition.
