(Abzeichen und Papiere). A lot of awards and documents to Stuka pilot Ludwig Harm;
1. A 1939 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse six o’clock arm with an initial institution date of “1813”, unmarked, measuring 44.07 mm (w) x 47.88 mm (h), weighing 18.1 grams, minor oxidation evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
2. A 1939 Iron Cross I Class, constructed of iron and silver, consisting of a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central mobile swastika, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1939”, the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44.30 mm (w) x 44.48 mm (h), weighing 16.5 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the exterior of the lid with a silvered Cross Pattée, the interior with a white satin-type lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted beige velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and a functional metal hinge, unmarked, measuring 70 mm (w) x 70 mm (h) x 25 mm (h), minor oxidation and material fatigue evident to the decoration and case, respectively, in overall near extremely fine condition.
3. A copy of “DER FLIEGER” (“THE AVIATOR”), by Hauptmann Fritz-Herbert Dierich, constructed of a light card stock binding with 248 interior pages and detailed illustrations, published in 1940 by E.S. Mittler & Sohn, Berlin, measuring 133 mm (w) x 192 mm (h), some discolouration and material fatigue evident, in overall better than very fine condition, and; a pair of photographs of Harm, including a large studio portrait, depicting Harm in the uniform of an Unteroffizier, wearing the Iron Cross I Class, the Iron Cross II Class ribbon, the Bomber Pilot Front Flying Clasp, and the Pilot’s Badge, the obverse with a studio mark of “OSKAR WEICHT, HAMBURG”, affixed to a card stock backer, measuring 113 mm (w) x 168 mm (h), in extremely fine condition, and;
4. A small photograph of Harm, the reverse with a handwritten inscription of “LUDWIG HARM, FW., STUKA-PILOT, 21.10. 1919 - 01. 07. 1943 (TOPALSKY) UKRAINE, BEGRABEN DER KRIEGSGRÄBERSTÄTTE CHARKOW (KHARKOV)/UKRAINE”, measuring 60 mm (w) x 87 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
