Germany, Luftwaffe. A Fallschirmjäger Badge, Late-War Field-Repaired Example, by G.H. Osang

(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Constructed of gilded and silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse retaining one of two rivets, with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a rounded catch, maker marked “G.H. OSANG, DRESDEN”, measuring 43.18 mm (w) x 53.95 mm (h), weighing 35.0 grams, the eagle has been crudely re-attached with soldier, with additional soldered repairs have been made to both the hinge and catch, with one rivet missing, a field-repaired and late-war example in fair condition.
