Constructed of re-gilded zink, the obverse consisting of a central circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a swastika, surrounding a central patinated eagle’s head, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, with two integral loops emanating from the lower edge of the wreath to accommodate a hanger bearing a raised number “300”, finished in black and flanked on each side by clusters of laurel leaves, the reverse with a single visible rivet securing the eagle’s head in position, with a barrel hinge and tapering horizontal pinback meeting a flat wire catch emanating from a circular baseplate, maker marked with the logo of Brüder Schneider, Vienna, the clasp measuring 76.57 mm (w) x 25.80 mm (h), the hanger measuring 35.54 mm (w) x 6.60 mm (h), weighing 21.7 grams overall, evidence of gilt restoration, in very fine condition.
