Germany, Luftwaffe. A Bomber Clasp, Bronze Grade with Case, by C.E. Juncker

(Frontflugspange für Kampf- und Sturzkampfflieger in Bronze mit Etui). Constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of a circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, surrounding a central patinated winged bomb, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the reverse with a single visible rivet securing the bomb in position, barrel hinge and tapering horizontal pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by C.E. Juncker, Berlin, measuring 76.18 mm (w) x 25.72 mm (h), weighing 17.6 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a pressed card stock frame with a faux dark blue leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilt inscription of “FRONTFLUGSPANGE FÜR KAMPFFLIEGER BRONZE”, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted white felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 90 mm (w) x 44 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue to the case, a matching set in overall extremely fine condition.
