(Ritterkreuzträger Fotos mit Unterschriften). A lot of postwar-signed photos of Kriegsmarine Knight’s Cross recipients retrieved from the Roger Bender collection, including:
1. One depicting Kapitänleutnant Karl Schulz, in uniform and with the Knight’s Cross (received 26 August 1944) and other decorations clearly visible, the lower right corner overlaid by Schulz’s handwritten signature, unmarked, measuring 9.5 cm (w) x 14.5 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
2. One depicting Konteradmiral Carl-Heinz Birnbacher, in uniform and with the Knight’s Cross (received 17 June 1940) clearly visible, the upper right corner overlaid by Birnbach’s handwritten signature, the reverse featuring Birnbach’s handwritten curriculum vitae, measuring 11.5 cm (w) x 16 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
3. One depicting Oberleutnant Hans-Georg Hess, in uniform and with the Knight’s Cross (received 11 February 1945) clearly visible, the lower half of the image overlaid by Hess’ handwritten signature, the reverse bearing an additional handwritten name, measuring 8.5 cm (w) x 13 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
4. One depicting Konteradmiral Kurt Weyher, in uniform and with the Knight’s Cross (received 21 August 1941) and other decorations clearly visible, the lower half of the image overlaid by Weyher’s handwritten signature, the reverse bearing an additional handwritten inscription from Weyher, measuring 10 cm (w) x 16 cm (h), in extremely fine condition.
