(II. Sturmboot-Flotille Zigaretten-Etui). A rare Kriegsmarine commemorative cigarette case, constructed of a nickel-silver case with a pebbled exterior, the lid bearing monogram-style owner’s initials “LHR”, opening with a functional push-button spring catch to reverse an interior which retains two elasticized bands to secure contents in position, the reverse of the cove bearing an engraved anchor defaced by a mobile swastika, the reverse of the back bearing an engraved owner’s dedication of “DEM HERRN LTN. Z. SEE L. REIMERS ZUR ERINNERUNG”, above a unit attribution of “II. STURMBOOT-FLOTILLE”, measuring 8.5 cm (w) x 8 cm (h), a desirable case to a notable Kriegsmarine small-combat unit, in extremely fine condition.

Footnote: The II. Sturmboot-Flotille (2nd Assault Boat Flotilla) was formed in late October 1944, and placed under the command of Kapitänleutnant Ernst Wilhelm Witt. It performed assault boat and small combat duties in coastal areas throughout the Mediterranean and Adriatic theaters.
