Description

(Portepees). A mixed lot of portepees, including:

1. An Imperial (Heer) portepee, consisting of a stylized silver-grey and yellow acorn (3. Bataillon) suspended from a silver-grey cord, unmarked, measuring 36 cm in total length, in extremely fine condition.

2. A Wehrmacht (Heer) portepee, consisting of a stylized silver aluminum wire acorns suspended from a dark slate-grey leather strap decorated with machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire tresses, unmarked, measuring 18 cm in length as presented, in unissued and near mint condition.

3. A disputed German Red Cross (DRK) portepee, consisting of a stylized silver aluminum wire and blue threaded acorn, suspended from a silver aluminum wire cord trimmed along both edges with machine-embroidered blue borders, unmarked, measuring 35 cm in total length, an example of a portepee widely attributed to the DRK (of possible post-war issue), in extremely fine condition.
