This is an extremely well-preserved edition of William E. Hamelman’s “German Iron Cross Documents of World War I”. The book consists of a glossed card stock binding, with the cover bearing a depiction of the 1914 Iron Cross, circumscribed by the book’s title and author. The reverse of the cover bears a black-and-white photograph of the author, with a brief description of his career and other works. The book’s content consists of 228 white paper pages with black ink text, encompassing information on 1914 Iron Cross award documents throughout the entirety of the First World War. The text is supplemented by 179 facsimile images of relevant documents, with further black-and-white illustrations. The book was published by Matthaeus Publishishers of Dallas, Texas, but contains no publishing date. It measures 216 mm (w) x 278 mm (h). Very minor material fatigue is evident to the cover, but it is otherwise intact and presents in an extremely fine condition.
