In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Infanterie-Offizier-Schwert M1889). A well-preserved Model 1889 Infantry Officer’s sword, measuring 89 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 72cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade with a sharpened tip and with two fullers running the length of each side. Blade is marked with an early Carl Eickhorn monogram with dual squirrels and E.C. It sits securely within a multi-piece hilt. The hilt features a guard bearing a detailed Prussian imperial eagle overlaid by the monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II, with a hand guard that connects to a plain pommel. The handle grip is composed of a wooden core wrapped in a boiled and ribbed black leather liner, with the ribbing retaining an original twisted and rolled bronze wire cord and a royal monogram affixed. It is accompanied by its original scabbard, constructed of a black painted magnetic metal shaft. An integral band situated just below the throat retains a loop for the accommodation of a hanger. Very fine.
