A rare Garde du Corps/Garde-Kürassier regiment Officer’s parade helmet eagle, constructed of silvered tombak, consisting of an exceptionally detailed German imperial eagle in the round, wearing a hollow crown on its head, affixed to a cruciform plate, with two visible rivets securing the eagle in position, with a central threaded screw post retaining both original plates for attachment to an accompanying (lobster tail-style) helmet, unmarked, measuring 18 cm (w) x 22 cm (l) x 18 cm (h), demonstrating loss of silver finish throughout the base metal, with spots of oxidation to the upper wings consistent a high copper content, a post-1897 model in very fine condition.
