Germany, Imperial. A Mixed Lot of Awards and Decorations for Military Service

 (Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of awards and decorations, including:

1. A Lippe-Detmold War Merit Cross, constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central Lippe rose, situated within a circular laurel leaf wreath, the six o’clock arm bearing an institution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm bearing a monogram of Prince Leopold IV, the reverse bearing an inscription of “FÜR AUSZEICHNUNG IM KRIEGE” (“FOR EXCELLENCE IN WAR”), unmarked, measuring 40.72 mm (w) x 44.57 mm (h), weighing 19.5 grams, in extremely fine condition.

2. A Verdun Cross, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the reverse maker marked “FLECK & SOHN, HAMBURG”, measuring 39.49 mm (w) x 39.62 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.

3. A Bavarian Regimental Commemorative Cross, constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon affixed to a single mount with clasp, unmarked, measuring 36.37 mm (w) x 41.31 mm (h), demonstrating some oxidation, in better than very fine condition.

4. A 5. Rheinischen Infanterie-Regiment Nr. 65 anniversary badge, constructed of silvered bronze horizontal pinback, unmarked, measuring 40 mm (w) x 52 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
