Germany, Imperial. A Lot of Private Wartime Photos from a Pilot on the Western Front

A scarce and interesting collection of private wartimes photos from the estate of a pilot with length service on the Western Front of the First World War, consisting of 40 black-and-white images depicting Luftstreitkräfte personnel in uniform, including several shots of Pilot Badges and other decorations in wear on Enlisted personnel and Officers, with additional images of German aircraft on the ground and in flight (with scenes of the wreckage of downed aircraft), in addition to two images of personnel attending funerals and church services conducted by chaplains, shots of Heer personnel on the ground, and scenes of a German field hospital set up in a church in the Champagne region, many featuring handwritten captions on the reverse specifying the occasion and locale (primarily France) and primarily dating to 1917, accompanied by a personalized and hand-made greeting card from the owner to his little brother featuring a lengthy handwritten inscription, a fascinating first-hand account of the air war on the Western Front in overall extremely fine condition.
