Germany, Imperial. A Large Framed Wartime Portrait of a Decorated Bavarian Solder in Full Kit

(Porträt). A superb studio portrait depicting a Bavarian soldier wearing full field kit, clad in an Officer-grade Pickelhaube with a regional plate clearly visible, wearing a 1914 Iron Cross II Class, and wielding a rifle with an elongated combat bayonet fixed in position, standing against a forested studio backdrop, affixed to a card stock backer topped by a printed etching of Kaiser Wilhelm II, situated above a 1914 Iron Cross surrounded by an oak leaf wreath and flanked by an inscription of “HEIL DEM TAPFEREN KRIEGER” (“HAIL TO THE BRAVE WARRIOR”), the lower right corner bearing the mark of an Ulm studio, situated within a period lacquered and blackened wooden frame with an intact glass face, the reverse topped by a magnetic metal suspension loop, measuring 28 cm (w) x 36 cm (h), demonstrating some damp-staining to the card stock base with additional scratching of the frame, a striking example of patriotica in near extremely fine condition.
