(Gedenkring angefertigt aus den Überresten von Manfred von Richthofens Dreidecker). An aluminum ring with a raised propeller on the head, contained in a shadow box, constructed of black wood behind a pane of glass, with a note reading “This ring is made from a piece of metal from the crashed Fokker Triplane 425/17 of Baron Manfred von Richthofen - 80 victories, April 21, 1918. It was sent home by Gus Field to his sister. Gus Field was a member of No. 3 Squadron Australian Flying Corps - Presented to me by Kevin McKay, his relative - C. Donald Collection”, the reverse is marked with a label reading “Picture This Photography & Framing” with an additional note immediately below reading “This ring is presented to Jack R. Keller and is from the Charles Donald Collection - April 21st, 1968 - 50 years after the death of Richthofen”, measuring 277 mm (w) x 247 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.
