Germany, Imperial. A Bavarian Industrial Association Merit Medal, with Case, by Carl Poellath

Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse bearing a raised depiction of a goddess presenting a worker with a branch of oak leaves, the reverse bearing a wreathed beehive, situated above an inscription of “FÜR LANGJÄHRIGE TREUE DIENST VOM BAYERSICHEN INDUSTRIELLEN VERBAND” (“FOR MANY YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE FROM THE BAVARIAN INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION”), the obverse engraver marked “HEINRICH WADERE”, measuring 48 mm in diameter, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a rigid card stock frame, the exterior with a faux purple leather liner, the lid bearing an inscription of “VERDIENSTMEDAILLE DES BAYERISCHEN INDUSTRIELLEN VERBAND” (“MERIT MEDAL OF THE BAVARIAN INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION”), the interior with a white satin lid liner and retractable fitted green velvet medal bed, the former maker marked “CARL POELLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN”, measuring 85 m (W) x 85 mm (l) x 20 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
