Germany, HJ. A Rare Leader’s Belt and Buckle, by Christian Theodor Dicke

(Hitlerjugend Feldbindenschloß für Führer). An HJ Leader’s belt and buckle, the former constructed of pressed brown leather, one end stitched into a loop for the inclusion of a cupal clip, the opposite end with a reverse leather tongue perforated with seven sets of dual eyelets for an adjustable fit, stamped with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) log and maker code “2/441/37” for an unidentified but documented manufacturer of Third Reich-period leather goods, measuring 4.5 cm (w) x 88 cm (l), in very fine condition; the latter constructed of cupal, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle clutching an HJ insignia, surrounded by a ribbed ring bearing an inscription of “BLUT UND EHRE” (“BLOOD AND HONOUR”), the reverse with a clip and claws emanating from a functional roller, marked with an RZM logo and maker code “M4/22” for Christian Theodor Dicke, Lüdenscheid, measuring 50 mm in diameter, demonstrating loss of finish to high-contact points partially exposing the copper base, a rare example in near extremely fine condition.
