Germany, HJ. A Field Cap

(HJ Schiffchen für Mannschaften). A well-preserved HJ field cap, constructed of khaki-tan cotton. It is fully surrounded by fold-down side walls which slope downward toward the front, and which are trimmed along the top edge indicating issue to general personnel. Stitched onto the lower peak is a machine-embroidered multi-coloured HJ insignia measuring 18 mm (w) x 30 mm (h). The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece slate-grey rayon liner, and surrounded along the lower edge with a grey leatherette sweatband. Unmarked, the cap measures approximately 28 cm (l) x 11 cm (h) when folded on a flat surface. Demonstrating minor material fatigue but with no notable damage or wear, it remains in an extremely fine condition.
