Germany, Heer. An Officer’s Brocade and Buckle, by F.W. Assmann & Söhne

(Heer Paradefeldbinde für Offiziere). A Heer Officer’s brocade and buckle, the former constructed of a reinforced field-grey doeskin base, the obverse topped by a layer of silver aluminum wire trimmed with dual machine-embroidered dark green tresses, with one ending featuring a reverse brown leather tongue perforated with seven sets of dual eyelets for an adjustable fit, featuring a sliding knot of identical construction, the tongue bearing a handwritten size mark of “107”, measuring 4.5 cm (w) x 112 cm (l), demonstrating only minor material fatigue, in extremely fine condition; the latter constructed of aluminum, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a pebbled field bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two loops (one sliding along the belt and the other stitched directly to the belt), maker marked with the logo of F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 50 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
