In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Stahlhelm M40). A well-preserved Heer M40 Stahlhelm (steel helmet), constructed of a single sheet of magnetic molybdenum steel which retains a partially-restored Apfelgrün (apple green) painted finish. Three rivets are distributed around the outer edge of the shell for the accommodation of the interior fixtures, while the crown is also flanked by dual integral ventilation holes. Situated directly below the left ventilation hole is a partially-intact decal consisting of a black shield bearing a silver-grey Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika. The rim is fully crimped, providing a smooth edge throughout the skirt. An aluminum ring surrounds the interior and retains an original brown leather liner which culminates in eight fingers, each perforated with five ventilation holes and an additional eyelet through which is looped a drawstring. Two aluminum loops emanate from the sides of the ring for the inclusion of a two-piece blackened leather chinstrap which is adjusted with a functional magnetic metal buckle. Stamped onto the left side of the skirt is a code of “EF62”, indicating manufacture by Emaillierwerk AG of Fulda, with a shell size of 62. An additional stamped heat code on the back of the skirt is obscured by an additional layer of paint, while hand-applied marks are also visible in white ink. Issues consistent with age and field wear are evident, and include restoration of paint, the removal or covering of a Wehrmacht tri-colour decal below the right side ventilation hole, loosening of the shell rivets, and moderate fatigue to the leather elements. This field-worn helmet remains in a very fine condition.
