Description

(Meldekartentasche M35). Constructed of multiple panels of pebbled brown leather, the reverse affixed with two straps of identical construction fastening closed with functional buckles for uniform attachment, opening with a fold-over lid fastened with metal eyelets which meet a loop that aligns with an additional leather strap topped by a metal cap for secure closure, the front panel with multi-cell compartments for the accommodation of pencils and tool, with a two-section interior, the reverse of the lid stamped with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “L2/371/41” indicating manufacture in 1941 by a widely-encountered but unidentified manufacturer of Wehrmacht leather goods, measuring 19 cm (w) x 28 cm (h), demonstrating only minimal signs of wear and fatigue, in extremely fine condition.
