In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Schirmmütze für Offiziere der Panzertruppe). A rare and extremely well-preserved Heer Panzer Troops visor cap for Officer ranks, constructed of field-grey wool with a subtle whipcord weave. The cap features reinforced side walls which are fully lined on the exterior with a dark green wool cap band. Both the top and bottom edges of the band are trimmed with rose-pink piping, while an additional length of identical piping surrounds the outer edge of the crown. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a dark green wool backer bearing a hand-embroidered silver aluminum Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 75 mm (w) x 35 mm (h). Directly below the eagle, the centre of the cap band bears a one-piece aluminum wire wreath and cockade, presented on a dark green wool backer measuring 65 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). The lower edge of the band is flanked by studs constructed of magnetic metal core within an aluminum shell, accommodating an original chinstrap which is constructed of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire. A protruding vulcanfibre visor completes the exterior features, and is finished in black on the obverse and in mottled dark brown on the reverse. A multi-piece dark grey rayon liner encompasses the interior, while a wide brown leather sweatband surrounds the walls. Stitched onto the peak is a transparent plastic moisture guard bearing a maker’s mark of “LITTO-MÜTZE, WIEN” for the firm of Kappenfabrik Littomericzky. Otherwise unmarked, the cap measures approximately 23 cm (w) x 27.5 cm (l) x 17 cm (h). Demonstrating minor and sporadic material fatigue throughout the base cloth, this Officer-grade cap remains in an extremely fine condition.
