In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Bajonetten). A pair of Heer dress bayonets, including:
1. One measuring 35 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 20 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade which retains factory-original sharpening to both the tip and lower edge. A narrow fuller runs the majority of the length of the upper edge each side. The reverse ricasso bears a maker’s mark of “ORIGINAL EICKHORN, SOLINGEN”, circumscribing the firm’s classic squirrel logo. It sits securely within a nickel-plated non-magnetic alloy hilt with a hooked quillon and pommel, and with an intact blackened leather buffer pad covering the seam. Inset into the pommel is a hollow insertion slot which retains a functional push-button spring release. Two pieces of pebbled black bakelite compose the handle grip, and are fastened in place with dual magnetic metal rivets. Accompanying the bayonet is its original scabbard, constructed of a black painted magnetic metal shaft. A downward-pointing hook emanates from the side for the accommodation of a frog, while a functional spring catch situated within the throat firmly holds the bayonet in place during storage. Issues consistent with age and wear are evident, and include some running marks to the blade, scratching of the hilt, and significant loss of scabbard paint.
2. A mis-matched set, measuring 41 cm in total length when inserted into the scabbard. It features a 20 cm-long, nickel-plated, magnetic steel blade which retains factory-original sharpening to both the tip and lower edge. A narrow fuller runs the majority of the length of the upper edge of each side of the blade. The reverse ricasso bears a maker’s mark of “ALCOSO, SOLINGEN”, for the former firm of Alexander Coppel, circumscribing the company’s scale logo. It sits securely within a nickel-plated alloy hilt with a hooked quillon and pommel, and with an intact blackened leather buffer pad covering the seam. Inset into the pommel is a hollow insertion slot which retains a functional push-button spring release. Two pieces of pebbled black bakelite compose the handle grip, and are fastened in place with dual magnetic metal rivets. Accompanying the bayonet is a scabbard retrieved from an Ordnungspolizei bayonet, constructed of a magnetic metal shaft with scalloped nickel silver fittings affixed to both the tip and throat. A downward-pointing hook emanates from the side of the throat fitting for the accommodation of a frog, while the same fixture retains a functional catch to firmly hold the bayonet in place during storage. Issues consistent with age and wear are evident, and include some running marks to the blade, loss of nickel plating to the hilt, and denting to the scabbard fixtures. A period mis-matched example in very fine condition.
