Description

(Heer Krimschild). Constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised map of Crimea and southern Ukraine, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, flanked by dates “1941-1942”, affixed with all four reverse attachment prongs to a magnetic metal backplate with a field-grey wool liner and intact black paper backer, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a documented variant produced by an unidentified manufacturer, the shield measuring 51.58 mm (w) x 61.21 mm (h), demonstrating near-total loss of bronze finish to the base metal, a scarce example in very fine condition.
