In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Schirmmütze für Offiziere der Generalstabs). A well-preserved Heer General Staff Officer’s visor cap, constructed of field-grey wool with a pronounced whipcord weave. It features reinforced side walls which are lined on the exterior with a smooth dark green wool cap band. Both the top and bottom edges of the band are trimmed with carmine piping, while an additional length of identical piping trips the outer edge of the crown. Pinned onto the peak is an aluminum insignia consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 65 mm (w) x 30 mm (h). Directly below the eagle, the centre of the cap band features a two-piece aluminum wreath and cockade, the latter with a red wool centrepiece, measuring 70 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). The lower edge of the cap band is flanked on each side by pebbled magnetic metal buttons, in turn accommodating a chinstrap constructed of multiple rows of twisted and rolled silver aluminum wire and, in conjunction with the aluminum peak insignia, likely indicating a subsequent promotion to Officer. A protruding vulcanfibre visor completes the exterior features, and is finished in glossy black on the obverse and in matte black on the reverse. The interior is fully encompassed by a light golden-yellow rayon liner, while an intact brown leather sweatband surrounds the side walls. The crown retains an intact transparent plastic moisture guard, with a slot for the insertion of a name tag. Fully unmarked, the cap measures approximately 24 cm (w) x 27.5 cm (l) x 15 cm (h). This superb cap, with evidence of the owner’s wartime rank upgrade, remains in an extremely fine condition.
