Germany, Heer. A Gebirgsjäger Reversible Wind Jacket

(Wehrmacht Heer Windschlupfjacke für Gebirgsjäger). An extremely well-preserved Wehrmacht (Heer) Gebirgsjäger reversible wind jacket (anorak), constructed of a mutli-panel cotton/rayon blended cloth base. The cloth is finished on one side in grey for three-season use, while the other side remains in an unspoiled white for use in winter field conditions. It features a hood and vertical slash at the front of the neck which fastens closed with three composite buttons which meet reinforced buttonholes on the opposite side. The cuff of each sleeve has an integral strap which securely fastens with a functional magnetic metal buckle. The chest of each side features three side-by-side pockets, all closing with scalloped flaps perforated with reinforced buttonholes, in turn meeting composite buttons. Double-sided front pockets are also set into the waist, opening with identical flaps and buttons. An integral belt is set into the waistband and retains an original drawstring, while an additional strap fits through the back and fastens closed with a single button for flush closure against the elements. Unmarked, the anorak measures approximately 62 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 62 cm, and an overall length of 78 cm. Soiling consistent with age and field use is evident, but this anorak, which demonstrates no notable condition issues, remains in a field-used and better than very fine condition.
