In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Heer Schirmmütze für Mannschaften der Gebirgstruppe). A very well-preserved Heer Gebirgsjäger EM/NCO’s visor cap, constructed of field-grey wool. The cap features reinforced side walls which are fully lined on the exterior with a dark green wool cap band. Both the top and bottom edges of the band are trimmed with green piping, while an additional length of identical piping trims the outer edge of the crown. Pinned onto the peak is a magnetic metal edelweiss with a gilded stamen, measuring 32 mm (w) x 30 mm (h). Directly below, the peak is also pinned with an aluminum Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 65 mm (w) x 25 mm (h). The centre of the cap band is pinned with two-piece aluminum wreath and tri-colour cockade, measuring 65 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). The lower edge of the cap band is flanked by blackened aluminum studs which accommodate a multi-piece black leatherette chinstrap, itself adjusted with two functional blackened magnetic metal buckles. A protruding vulcanfibre visor completes the exterior features, and is finished in black on the obverse and in khaki-tan on the reverse. The interior is fully encompassed by a beige rayon liner, while a wide brown leather sweatband surrounds the walls, and is perforated with ventilation holes through the forehead. The crown retains an intact transparent plastic moisture guard, which is maker marked with the “MEISTERKLASSE” logo of G.A. Hoffmann, Berlin. Inserted into the guard is a paper label bearing a black ink owner’s name of “STEINBERGER ANTON”, while the sweatband is perforated with initials “STA”. The cap measures approximately 24.5 cm (w) x 27 cm (l) x 16 cm (h). Demonstrating no notable damage or wear, it remains in an extremely fine condition.
