In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

                          Description
(Heer Parade-Waffenrock für einen Hauptmann der Infanterie). A well-preserved and unit-attributed dress tunic to an Infantry Hauptmann, constructed of field-grey wool. It features a turned-down collar which is fully lined on the obverse with smooth dark green wool, and reinforced on the reverse with machine-stitched darts. The collar is flanked by tabs constructed of white wool with buckram cores, topped by dual silver aluminum wire tresses, and measuring 35 mm (w) x 70 mm (l). The shoulders are topped by boards constructed of grey wool with card stock cores, topped by four bands of silver aluminum wire piping, and pinned with dual silvered pips. Each measuring 35 mm (w) x 110 mm (l), the boards are fixed in place with stitching at the outer edge, and with pebbled buttons bearing raised numerals “2” at the inner edge. The cuff of each sleeve is topped by a layer of dark green wool, trimmed with white piping, and bears dual white wool insignia bearing silver aluminum wire tresses and pebbled buttons. Stitched into the upper right breast is an insignia consisting of a field-grey wool base topped by a layer of grey rayon threading, in turn bearing a machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 120 mm (w) x 45 mm (h). The breasts close with eight pebbled aluminum buttons on the right flap meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left. A vertical slit set into the lower back is flanked by scalloped flaps which are trimmed with white piping and flanked by pebbled aluminum buttons and belt hooks. All buttons are stamped on the reverse with a maker mark of “MOTZ”. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece beige rayon liner which transitions into a pinstripe pattern through the arms. A single pocket is set into the upper left flap. Stamped onto the liner just above the pocket is a unit attribution of “2./J.R. 74” for II. Kompanie, Infanterie-Regiment 74, along with size dimensions and a maker’s mark of “UNAG. FFM.” for Uniform A.G. (Nach. Gebr. Weis, etc.), Frankfurt-am-Main. The tunic measures approximately 42 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 60 cm, and an overall length of 74 cm when folded on a flat surface. Consistent but minor material fatigue and soiling are evident throughout the material, reflecting both age and period wear, but this untouched and unit-attributed example remains in a very fine condition.
