The collection consists of: an Iron Cross 2nd Class award document (139 mm (w) x 196 mm (h), fine); a Wound Badge in Black award document (139x199mm, better than fine); an Eastern Front Medal award document (140x200mm, fine).
The Iron Cross 2nd Class award document is named to Gefreiter (Lance Corporal) Schmid of the 5th Battery of Artillery Regiment 96. It is dated to June 15, 1942 and signed in blue ink by the commander of the 44th Infantry Division, Generalmajor Heinrich-Anton Deboi (1893–1955), a recipient of the Knight’s Cross.
The Wound Badge in Black award document is named to Unteroffizier (NCO) Schmid of the 1st Battery of Artillery Regiment 62 for being wounded once on July 30, 1944. It is dated to August 20, 1944 and signed in blue ink by Chief Medical Officer of War Hospital (motorised) 1/561, Oberstabsarzt Dr. Beyerle.
The Eastern Front Medal award document is named to Obergefreiter (Corporal) Schmid of Artillery Regiment 96, receiving the decoration on September 4, 1942. It is signed in blue ink by his Battery Chief, Hauptmann (Captain) Stein.
