(Etui - Museumsstück). A pair of presentation case for superior grades of the Iron Cross, issued to accommodate exhibition examples produced c. 1960, including:
1. One for a 1914 Iron Cross I Class with integral 1939 Clasp, constructed of a rigid card stock frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the interior with a white rayon liner and intact hinge cover, with a double-slotted black felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 80 mm (w) x 105 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
2. One for a Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, constructed of a rigid card stock frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a fitted black velvet medal bed, closing with a metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 75 mm (w) x 145 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), demonstrating minor material fatigue throughout the exterior liner, in better than very fine condition.
