Description

(Blutorden). Instituted November 9, 1933. (Post May 1945 manufacture - c. 1970 issue). A circular silver medal, the obverse consists of a swooping NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreath with a central date of “9. Nov.”, flanked by an inscription of “München 1923-1933”, the reverse with a detailed raised depicting of the Munich Feldherrnhalle, topped by a mobile swastika with sun rays in the background, with an inscription of “Und Ihr Habt Doch Gesiegt” (And You Have Won After All), the reverse marked “900” for .900 or 90% silver content and numbered “869”, measuring 41.1 mm in diameter, weighing 27.64 grams, in near mint condition.

Footnote: Rudolf Souval was a predominant manufacturer of medals, awards, and badges during the Second World War. Following the end of the war in Europe in May 1945, Rudolf Souval continued manufacturing certain awards using wartime parts and dies for American G.I’s stationed in Europe.
