Constructed of silvered feinzink, the obverse consisting of a circular chain link wreath, surrounding a central blockade runner cutting through the chain, its bow topped by a German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika while in mid-flight, with its head extending beyond the edge, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch emanating from a circular base, unmarked but demonstrating the physical characteristics of a post-war variant produced by Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 48.89 mm in diameter, weighing 29.5 grams, demonstrating loss of finish throughout, a veteran’s replacement piece or exhibition example produced by a noted wartime manufacturer of Wehrmacht decorations, in very fine condition.
