Germany, Army. A Wehrmacht Paratrooper Badge, by C.E. Juncker - 3rd Pattern

(Heeres Fallschirmschützenabzeichen). Third Pattern (aka “1943/Brandenburg'' version). A two-piece badge, constructed of zink, the obverse with a gilded wreath of oak leaves tied with a ribbon at the bottom, topped by a Wehrmacht-style eagle with outstretched wings clutching a mobile swastika in its talons, riveted to the wreath is a plummeting eagle, the reverse missing its short block hinge and pin, but retaining its long catch, which, together with the stubby talons signify that is this a 3rd pattern “1943/Brandenburg'' version; measuring 42.86 mm (w) x 55.12 mm (l), weighing 31.2 grams, in overall near very fine condition.
