A War Merit Cross 1st Class with Swords certificate, measuring 148x210mm, very fine condition with some fraying and two minor tears; a War Merit Cross 2nd Class with Swords certificate, measuring 148x210mm, near extremely fine condition with folding crease, minimal creasing, minimal discolouration, and a small piece of the lower left corner missing; a Sudetenland Medal certificate, measuring 199x150mm, extremely fine condition with folding crease, light fraying, and remnants of paper glued to the reverse.

The War Merit 1st Class with Swords certificate is named to Oberfeldwebel (Senior Sergeant) Helmut Pfuhl and dated to the Air Fleet Headquarters on September 1, 1944. It is signed in blue crayon by the Commander-in-Chief of Air Fleet 6, Colonel General Robert Ritter von Greim (1892–1945), later General Field Marshal and last Commander of the Luftwaffe, a recipient of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords, and the Pour le Mérite. At the time the unit was stationed at the central part of the Eastern Front.

The War Merit 2nd Class with Swords certificate is named to Oberfeldwebel Pfuhl of the 5th Company of Air Signals Regiment 38. It is dated to September 1, 1943 and signed in blue ink by the Commanding General of the 8th Air Corps, Major General Hans Seidemann (1902–1967), a recipient of the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves. At the time the unit was stationed on the Eastern Front, in the Kursk area.

The Sudetenland certificate is named to NCO Pfuhl of the 9th Company of Luftgau Signals Regiment 8. It is dated to Breslau on September 20, 1939 and signed in black ink by the regiment commander, a Lieutenant Colonel.
