In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
Measuring 107x149mm, very fine with folding crease, some scuffing and creasing, and minor damage to the left bottom corner. The recipient is Feldwebel (Sergeant) Hans Grünert of the 90th Panzer Grenadier Division, Feldpost number 56290 D. The document is signed in blue ink by an Oberfähnrich and Deputy Company Leader, his name could be Kramer. The certificate states that it should be kept in the pouch of the Soldbuch.
Footnote: The Sardinia Shield, introduced in July of 1943, was an unofficial tradition cap badge worn exclusively by the 90th Panzer Grenadier Division, which was formed on the Mediterranean island of Sardinia. From there the unit was redeployed to Sicily and took part in the entire defensive campaign in Italy, retreating north from the advancing Allied troops. The division was eventually destroyed in Bologna in April of 1945.
