(Medaillen). A mixed lot of five medals, including:
1. A Prussian Kurhesse Centenary Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing a raised lion situated above oak leaf branches, the reverse bearing raised dates “1813 - NOVEMBER 1913”, unmarked, measuring 39.72 mm in diameter, weighing 28.4 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
2. A Waldeck Friedrich-Bathildis Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing raised and leftward-facing profiles of Prince Friedrich and Princess Bathildis, circumscribed by names and titles, the reverse bearing a wreathed inscription of “FÜR TREUES WIRKEN IN EISERNER ZEIT 1915” (“FOR FAITHFUL WORK IN THE IRON TIME 1915”), the obverse engraver marked “R. KOWARZIK”, measuring 38.40 mm in diameter, weighing 20.3 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
3. A Waldeck Commemorative Campaign Medal, constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing a central wreathed monogram of Prince Georg Victor, the reverse bearing a central wreathed sword, unmarked, measuring 29.80 mm in diameter, weighing 21.1 grams, corrosion has rendered the specific campaign date on the obverse illegible, in fair condition.
4. A Baden Collection and Helper Service Merit Medal, constructed of blackened feinzink, on loop for suspension, unmarked, measuring 33.39 mm in diameter, weighing 15.7 grams, with moderate loss of finish evident, in very fine condition.
5. A Third Reich-period Life Saving Medal, constructed of silver, on loop for suspension, the obverse bearing a raised German national eagle overlaid by a shield defaced by a mobile swastika, the reverse bearing a wreathed inscription of “FÜR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR” (“FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER”), the edge marked with a crescent moon indicating German manufacture, a silver content number of “835”, and the logo of the Prussian Mint in Berlin, measuring 25.25 mm in diameter, weighing 8.6 grams, missing its suspension loop, in near extremely fine condition.
