France, Republic. A M1915 Bleu Horizon Infantry Uniform

An extensive set featuring multiple components, having been displayed together since the 1970's in an old collection, featuring the following pieces:

1. Adrian Helmet (M15): In standard field grey painted steel, with seven piece black leather liner, replacement brown leather chin strap, and iconic flaming grenade with RF for République Française;

2. A 1919 dated tunic in field grey/blue course wool, 5 button closure with two frontal pockets, interior in white cotton and well stamped with sizing and inspection, 144-108-60, with mothing and wear;

3. A 1918 dated trousers, loose fitting design in matching blue-grey wool, with yellow (jonquille) piping or side seam piping denoting infantry, reinforced knees, aluminum buttons marked "Militaries Equipments", cotton cuffs with blue string closures, interior dated and sized " C2 86 90" with mothing and light wear;

4. Horizon Blue Greatcoat, in thick wool, double-breasted, calf-length with 6 button closure and dual frontal pockets, multiple replaced buttons, interior well marked and sized "110 96 61", exhibiting wear and mothing; 

5. A pair of matching blue puttees with wear and string closures;

6. A Pair of Model 1912/15/16, ankle-high, hobnailed leather boots, with steel toetaps and marked Ajax Wood-Milne soles, sized 42, leather is bridle with right boot showing tear along the back;

7. An M1877 canteen,  1915-1919, metal, wool, wood, cork with leather strap, again showing mothing and having lost cup;

8. Model 1892 Haversack, in khaki cotton with heavy cotton strap, faded markings, two original buttons;

9. Leather belt and shoulder strap with three pouches, belt stamped on reverse and two pouches stamped on interior of frontal flap, leather is worn, slightly discoloured but flexible; 

Overall, this is a carefully curated uniform set that remains near very fine and a wonderful display grouping.
