In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
In bronze, "1914-1918" reverse, measuring 37 mm (w) x 46.2 mm (h) inclusive of its ball suspension, bronze star on its original ribbon, small dent on the dated centrepiece on the reverse, green oxidation and spotting on both sides, very fine. Accompanied by its 37.5 mm (w) x 9.5 mm (h) Ribbon Bar with pinback.
Footnote: The Croix de Guerre is a military decoration of France. It was first created in 1915 and consists of a square-cross medal on two crossed swords, hanging from a ribbon with various degree pins. The decoration was awarded during the First World War and, again in the Second World War, along with other conflicts. The Croix de Guerre was also commonly bestowed on foreign military forces allied to France. It may either be awarded as an individual or unit award, to those soldiers who distinguish themselves by acts of heroism involving combat with the enemy. The medal is awarded to those who have been "mentioned in dispatches", meaning a heroic deed or deeds were performed meriting a citation from an individual's headquarters unit. The unit award of the Croix de Guerre with palm was issued to military units whose members performed heroic deeds in combat and were subsequently recognized by headquarters. (C:102)
