(Nishan al-Nil). Instituted in late 1915 by Sultan Husain Kamil. A fine french made example of this order, consisting of a 10-pointed silver gilt star with multi-faceted rays and a white enamelled star with a raised central inlay in blue enamels, suspended from a small Royal Crown and swivel ring from its period original ribbon featuring a large rosette, unmarked, measuring 54.3 mm (w) x 53.5 mm (l), weighing 42.63 grams. Accompanied by its presentation case, constructed of a lightweight wooden core with a dark blue lightly textured faux leather exterior, the exterior of the lid embossed in gilt, the interior of the lid embossed with the maker mark of “J. Lattes” of France, with a functional exterior metal hinge, intact interior fabric hinge cover, and functional exterior metal clasp closure, measuring 88 mm (w) x 126 mm (l), the enamelled star with damage to the white enamels on one of the arms, the central star slightly loose, in better than very fine condition.
