A Khedivate Badge of Office of the Judges of the International Tribunal for the Legal Administration of Egypt and the Suez Canal Zone in Alexandria. Instituted by the Khedive of Egypt, Abbas II Hilmi Bey, the last Khedive of Egypt and the Sudan. A large silver gilt badge consisting of a large multi rayed sunburst, obverse centre presenting a central shield with black enamel script (Law is the foundation of justice), resting upon a drapery, adorned by Egyptian Crown, affixed by two large screw posts, reverse with central pin assembly, measuring 85 mm (w) x 113 mm (h), extremely fine. Accompanied by case of issue, wooden framed, wrapped in red leather, interior lid marked with maker Froment-Meurice, a prominent jeweler in Paris who was awarded the commission for this badge, velvet medal bed, lid and bottom detached, poor.
