Description

(Dannebrogordenen). Instituted in 1219 by King Valdemar II, and re-instituted by King Christian V in 1671. Christian VIII Issue. Consisting of twenty-four white and red painted Dannebrog crosses in bronze gilt, alternating positions with twelve crowned cypher of King Christian V "C5", and twelve crowned cypher of King Valdemar II "W", both cyphers in bronze gilt, reverse presenting double-sided design, measuring approximately 940 mm in length, the top of the chain links are connected via a single ring on either side while the bottom of the chain links are connected via three rings per side, with only very minor loss of the gilt finish, in overall extremely fine condition.
