1. A Navy Long Service Medal. (Instituted January 29th, 1801). Type III - 1851 onwards. c. 1870, a circular silver medal, the obverse with the crowned Royal Cypher of Christian VII with “26. September 1870” above and “For God Tjeneste” below, the reverse inscribed “Fortjent” within an open-ended oak wreath tied together at the base with a ribbon, unmarked, measuring 30.1 mm in diameter.
2. A 16-Year Long Service Decoration. (Instituted April 23rd, 1817). Type VII - 1854 onwards. C. 1870, consisting of gilded bronze, consisting of a Cross Pattėe with sun rays emanating from the center of the cross in the quadrants between the arms of the cross, inscribed with a Royal Cypher on the top arm and “16” centrally, the reverse plain, unmarked, on an affixed crown for suspension, measuring 30.4 mm (w) x 49.3 mm (l).
Both medals are mounted to a Danish-style medal bar via their period-original ribbons, the reverse with a horizontal pinback sewn to the ribbons, in near extremely fine condition.
