Description

(Orden De la Solidaridad), three piece construction, 43,5 mm diameter, weighing 41,8 grams, silvered metal with a cog-wheel style star base, red enamel outer ring inscribed “SOLIDARIDAD,” the central medallion depicting a stylised monument or obelisk, reverse bearing the Cuban national coat of arms and the legend “Republica de Cuba / Consejo de Estado,” suspended from a pentagonal ribbon patterned with red, white and blue vertical stripes, accompanied by its matching ribbon bar.

Footnotes: The Orden De la Solidaridad was instituted by decree-law No. 30 of 10 December 1979 in the Socialist Republic of Cuba. It is awarded to Cuban and foreign citizens, as well as Cuban and foreign organisations, for outstanding service in the fight against imperialism, colonialism, neo-colonialism, fascism, racism and other forms of exploitation; for the struggle to build socialism and for solidarity, peace and the independence of peoples.
