Cuba, Republic. A Pair of Orders for Service to the Fatherland in the FAR

1. (Orden Por el Servicio a la Patria en las FAR I Clase) Order for Service to the Fatherland in the FAR First Class, silvered and gilt bronze four-piece construction, consisting of a silvered rayed star with gilt rays between the arms, the obverse displaying a gilt central medallion bearing a fasces surrounded by laurel branches within a green enamel ring inscribed “POR EL SERVICIO A LA PATRIA • FAR •” (“For Service to the Fatherland – FAR”), the reverse showing the Cuban coat of arms and the inscription “REPUBLICA DE CUBA CONSEJO DE ESTADO” (“Republic of Cuba, Council of State”), with horizontal pinback, accompanied by its matching blue ribbon bar with central yellow stripe, 43.1 mm wide x 43.3 mm tall, weighing 24.4 grams, showing discolouration to the gilt rays, overall near extremely fine.

2. (Orden Por el Servicio a la Patria en las FAR II Clase) Order for Service to the Fatherland in the FAR Second Class, silvered and gilt bronze four-piece construction, consisting of a silvered rayed star with gilt rays between the arms, the obverse displaying a gilt central medallion bearing a fasces surrounded by laurel branches within a green enamel ring inscribed “POR EL SERVICIO A LA PATRIA • FAR •” (“For Service to the Fatherland – FAR”), the reverse showing the Cuban coat of arms and the inscription “REPUBLICA DE CUBA CONSEJO DE ESTADO” (“Republic of Cuba, Council of State”), with horizontal pinback, accompanied by its matching blue ribbon bar with central yellow stripe, 43.1 mm wide x 43.3 mm tall, weighing 25.1 grams, the star slightly misaligned with the rays, lettering worn on the obverse, reverse with minor staining from wear, overall better than very fine.
