(Libertad Type Medal Bar) constructed of gilt brass with winged “Libertad” suspension bar, mounted with a ribbonless Cuban First World War Victory Medal suspended directly from the bar, a Military Medal Fourth Class on a frayed ribbon, a Long Service Medal with eight gilt chevrons, an Armed Forces Merit Medal, a National Reconciliation Medal with gilt service star, and a Distinguished Service Medal, mounted for wear on a horizontal pinback bar, measuring 95.5 mm in length.
2. (Unknown Cuban Medal) constructed in sterling silver, the five-pointed star-shaped medal bearing an enamelled Cuban flag medallion to the centre, suspended from a red, white, and blue ribbon, the reverse officially marked “STERLING”, the medal detached from the ribbon suspension loop, measuring 31.7 mm x 30 mm.
3. (Medalla de Merito de las Fuerzas Armadas) Armed Forces Merit Medal, a trio of miniature gilt medals, each depicting crossed cannon barrels, rifles, anchors, and military trophies above the inscription “CUBA”, suspended from miniature enamelled ribbon bars in Cuban national colours, two retaining enamelled ribbon bars and one lacking enamel decoration to the suspension, each measuring approximately 20.1 mm x 31.1 mm.
4. (Cuerpo Nacional de Bomberos Medal) National Corps of Firefighters miniature constructed of gilt metal and red enamel, the face bearing the inscription “CUERPO NACIONAL DE BOMBEROS” and “PATRIOTISMO CONSTANCIA” surrounding firefighting emblems and crossed axes beneath a flaming torch, suspended from with pinback suspension, measuring 21.7 mm x 28.5 mm.
All items are in good to fair condition.
Footnote: Cuban Republican military medal bars frequently combined campaign, merit, long service, and reconciliation decorations into custom-mounted groups for formal wear. The “Libertad” winged suspension device reflects patriotic symbolism commonly used in Cuban military insignia during the first half of the 20th century.
