In response to evolving domestic opinion, eMedals Inc has made the conscious decision to remove the presentation of German Third Reich historical artifacts from our online catalogue. For three decades, eMedals Inc has made an effort to preserve history in all its forms. As historians and researchers, we have managed sensitive articles and materials with the greatest of care and respect for their past and present social context. We acknowledge the growing sentiments put forth by the Canadian public and have taken proactive actions to address this opinion.

Description
Description
(Medalla de la Victoria 1914-1918) A First World War Victory Medal, in bronze, the obverse featuring a winged standing Victory holding a palm branch and sword, the reverse displaying the Cuban coat-of-arms beneath a helmet and wreath flanked by the names of the Allied nations surrounding the inscription “LA GRAN GUERRA POR LA CIVILIZACION”, mounted to its original rainbow-coloured ribbon, maker marked “C. CHARLES” on the lower edge, measuring 36.1 mm x 40.6 mm inclusive of its suspension device.
The medal is in fine to very fine condition, with light wear.
Footnote: Cuba declared war on Germany on 7 April 1917 and later issued its own national variant of the Inter-Allied Victory Medal following the end of the First World War. Like the other Allied Victory Medals, it utilized the distinctive double-rainbow ribbon symbolizing hope and peace after the conflict. Cuban examples were manufactured domestically and by foreign makers, including C. Charles, and remain among the scarcer Latin American Victory Medal issues.
