Description
Description
Boina del Ejército Cubano) A Cuban Army Beret, constructed of olive green wool with brown leather sweatband, the front mounted with a silvered Cuban military badge featuring the national coat-of-arms within a wreath surmounted by a star, the interior marked “60”, with dual blackened metal ventilation eyelets to the reverse, measuring approximately 250 mm across with an interior circumference of approximately 57 CM.
The beret is in fine condition, with light wear, minor age toning to the insignia, and moderate wear to the interior leather sweatband.
Footnote: Olive green berets of this style were utilized by elements of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces during the Cold War era, particularly throughout the 1960s and 1970s. The Cuban coat-of-arms badge remained a common national military emblem across various army formations, while the simple olive drab construction reflected the Soviet-influenced military aesthetic adopted by Revolutionary Cuba following 1959.
